Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrival in Tanzania | Kilimanjaro Airport – Karatu

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by a representative of African Meraviglia Safaris with the traditional greeting Karibu Sana!

Enjoy a scenic drive to Karatu, passing through lush highlands, coffee and banana plantations, and Maasai villages set against the dramatic backdrop of the Great Rift Valley.

Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon and relax in a peaceful highland setting as Africa welcomes you for the first time.

DAY 2 – Ngorongoro Crater | The African Garden of Eden

After breakfast, descend into the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, often called Africa’s Garden of Eden.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife within an ancient volcanic caldera.

Enjoy a full-day game drive across open plains, forests, and soda lakes, with excellent chances to spot lions, elephants, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, and the rare black rhinoceros.

Picnic lunch is served near the hippo pool, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

In the afternoon, continue toward Ndutu, in the southern Ngorongoro ecosystem—one of the most important regions of the Great Migration.

Accommodation: Ndutu Heritage Camp
Meal Plan: Full Board

DAY 3 – Ndutu Plains | Calving Season Experience

Wake to the distant sounds of wildebeest echoing across the plains.
Between January and March, Ndutu becomes the birthplace of life, as hundreds of thousands of wildebeest calves are born within a few weeks.

Spend the entire day tracking the herds and observing intimate moments of nature—newborn calves taking their first steps, mothers protecting their young, and predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas closely following the movement of the herds.

Your professional guide will position you in the best areas for photography and close wildlife encounters.

As the sun sets over the plains, return to camp for dinner by the fire beneath a star-filled African sky.

Accommodation: Ndutu Heritage Camp
Meal Plan: Full Board

DAY 4 – Ndutu to Central Serengeti

After breakfast, depart for Central Serengeti, enjoying game viewing along the way.
The drive reveals classic Serengeti scenery—golden plains, scattered acacia trees, and abundant wildlife.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before exploring the Seronera Valley, known for its high density of predators, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

Arrive at your tented camp in the late afternoon, just in time to enjoy sunset over the savannah.

Accommodation: Hippo Trails Camp
Meal Plan: Full Board

DAY 5 – Serengeti Morning Safari & Flight to Zanzibar

Begin the day with a final early morning game drive, capturing the magic of sunrise and the last wildlife moments in the Serengeti.
